Description

Fully Insulate Your Van Conversion

Insulating a van is an essential step when converting it into a comfortable and functional living space. This is why we've created our EcoTec Van Conversion Insulation Kit.

Which is a particularly important step if you're wanting to use your van for an extended period in all different climates throughout Europe. Insulating your van will prevent condensation and moisture build-up, which can lead to problems with mould and mildew.

Your van will also be able to maintain an ambient temperature all year round by keeping your van cool during summer and warm in winter.

Insulation will also help to reduce noise and vibrations from outside, creating a quieter and more peaceful environment inside the van. This kit is a great energy-saving, space-saving, affordable solution for your can conversion project.

What's included in the EcoTec Van Conversion Insulation Kit?

Airtec Double is highly effective at reflecting radiant heat, which is the primary method of heat transfer. It's also only 4mm thick and lightweight, making it easy to install in tight spaces and minimizing the impact on the weight of your van and leaving you with as much space as possible within the van.

Question and Answer
Is this product perforated?

This product is un-perforated. It works instead as a vapour control layer. Once you have taped and sealed this with the Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape Provided – you will prevent passage of moisture. This will in turn remove the risk of condensation.

Can I insulate over the top of electrical cables?

So long as the cables are not in direct contact with multifoil insulation, its ok to have the cables underneath. You could always encase them in trunking for extra protection. If you need to pull the cables through the insulation, that is also ok – just ensure you tape and seal around where you have cut.

Is Tape Essential?

It isn’t essential, but it is advisable for most applications. To achieve a vapour control layer you need to use the Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape around all of the edges and joints. You can always get in touch via our Contact Us Form, if you would like assistance on any specific application.

What is its R-Value?

R-Value up to 1.46 m²K/W

How does this compare to mineral fibre insulation?

It is equivalent to 65mm of mineral fibre insulation. Yet, only 4mm thick.

Will the double-sided tape damage the wall of the van?

The tape shouldn’t damage the paint, but it could potentially leave some residue which could be removed with a product like GooGone. It is designed to last a long time so if you’re wanting to renovate or move your radiators, we would recommend waiting to insulate them until you’re done.

How thick is the insulation?

The insulation is only 4mm thick, so it’ll fit all types of vans even if space is a concern.

Do I need an expert or PPE to install this?

Zero fibres, which removes the need for PPE and means it is safe to install yourself.
